About

I, Laura Fair McClure, have been tinkering with all aspects of art from a very early age, starting with painting classes from the local Augusta, Georgia YWCA.  I continued with a BFA in painting from the University of Georgia, jobs with art museums and galleries, and a stint as an independent art curator.

I credit my love of tableware to my mother who saved countless coupons to gift an entire set of Winn Dixie china to me for my college days.   That was just the humble beginning of a passion that seems to never end.  In 2000, I (and my then business partner, Margaret Niblett) started BIONDA-BRUNA, a design and import company focusing on hand-painted Italian ceramics.  This passion fueled yet another, my love for Italy.

In 2005, I decided to embark on the adventure of my life.  I packed up everything I owned (including my adorable dachshund, Ciccia Maria), and set off to experience a whole new culture...I moved to Italy!  I now live among the olive trees in a classic Tuscan stone farmhouse that dates back to the 1400’s.  We, with my Italian Dino, enjoy a simple life full of four dogs, nature, food, and, of course, wine.  Inspiration abounds for me and each changing season brings a new outlook for design.  The view from my studio window beckons me to create a little something new every day.

Over the past 9 years, I have continued to build a reputation for creating high quality, design oriented accessories for the home.  I carry on this work with Laura Fair, a design company specializing in products specifically for clients in the home accessories and gift industries.  With a deep understanding of the manufacturing process, I now develop original concepts in decorative pattern and surface design that translate into a wide variety of tabletop, gift, paper, and home decor products.  Stylish yet functional, my distinct products can be seen in retail stores across the United States including Anthropologie, Neiman Marcus, and small specialty boutiques; and have been featured in Elle Decor, O Magazine, House Beautiful, Southern Accents, Country Home, Country Living, Better Homes & Gardens, and Lucky, among others.

I am still a fine artist at heart and love to paint on canvas.  With all the beauty surrounding me, it is hard to resist picking up a paint brush.  So look out for a new series of Laura Fair paintings...coming soon!  To learn more about my everyday life in Italy, please visit my blog at  www.laurafair.blogspot.com.
